Welcome to the Bravenet community!
You've made some great posts, so far; keep up the great work!
Christmas season is here again. I haven't forgotten yet that last year a friend was offended and returned the funds collected supposedly to buy decorations after I deliberately objected.
Among the office' activities for the yuletide season is the competition for best decorated division based on a certain theme. And it became a practice that employees in a participating division contribute for the decorations. That was the practice and I could not tolerate it. There actually is an annual budget for decorations but these decorations are for the common areas of the office' premises like our lobbies and training room.
I've never been against any competition. And competing for best decorated division was always fun. But with accumulated decorations for common areas, and considering decors which participating divisions purchase for a particular theme becomes property of the division, I thought it was unfair to impose an amount to buy those decors. I hope I had the wrong impression. The way I saw it, it was like it had to be a competition so that everyone would participate and divisions would be decorated well. It was like even during happy season, there was pressure to compete. Disgusting!
