Thanks it's Friday. We are free again from the various "bawals" reiterated in the office allegedly to promote corporate image. Of course it feels good to know that we are in an office that cares much about corporate image and prestige. And we will definitely cooperate. We became who we are now because our office has gone this far. The irony though is, while all these "dos" and "don'ts" are strongly emphasized, some officers mislead us the way.
What corporate image is there to project when officers speak violently? Is saying "ihahampas ko sa pagmumukha nyo yang mga folders" (while angrily pointing his staff) an act of a corporate official? Maybe if he was talking with a male subordinate I could say he was carried away with his emotions but using those violent words to a female subordinate was such an animalistic approach.
Here is another officer, a Ma'am this time. She was looking for me yet she called at the other unit. When she was answered "ambot wala man sya sa iya table", Madam flarred up, insulted and attacked my colleague saying "unsa klase impleyeda ka ambot lang imo tubag? bastos ka mutubag wala kay batasan!" and before my colleague could talk further, Madam dropped the other line. The nerve to this Madam! Well, I can not give a hundred percent support to my colleague as "ambot" is also disgusting and she could have said "wala baya sya sa iya area". Had I not heard complaints about how Madam attacked employees for their personal lives' imperfections and had she not attacked that way, I would understand her because I myself use "ambot". As to how my colleague pronounced her "ambot" and how Madam delivers her "ambot", I could not tell and I guess that's beside the point.
Our apperances may count a lot for the image we want to create but this is obviously nothing when we can not behave like corporate beings.
